Happy Birthday to the one and only Dr. Z!

We joke around a lot around here (and trust us, he gives us PLENTY of material), but today we have to give him some credit.

We are genuinely so lucky to have a boss who cares as much as he does. About his patients, his team, our families, this community, and this little thing called BZ that he’s built into something pretty special.

He supports our crazy ideas, encourages us to keep growing, makes work fun, and has created a place where we actually like coming to work and genuinely enjoy the people we get to do it with. That’s not something we take for granted.

Dr. Z leads with a huge heart, never takes himself too seriously, and somehow trusts this crew enough to let us talk him into things like THIS photo.

We’re proud of what we’ve built together, but even more grateful for the person who started it all.

Happy Birthday, Dr. Z! We hope you know how much your BZ crew appreciates you.

These two officially started their braces journey together, and we love that they get to go through it side by side. Can’t wait to watch both of their smiles transform!

Why do we recommend an orthodontic check around age 7? Harper is a pretty good example.

Dr. Z is scanning Harper for her expander, with Brody and Peyton making sure everything goes according to plan.

At age 7, kids still have plenty of baby teeth, and that’s actually the point. An early orthodontic evaluation lets us look at how the jaws are growing, how permanent teeth are coming in, and whether there are things we may want to address while a child is still growing.

It doesn’t mean every 7-year-old needs treatment. Most don’t. Sometimes the best plan is simply to keep an eye on things until the timing is right.

For Harper, the right time happens to be now. Next stop: expander!

Each part of your braces has a job, from the archwire doing the moving to those tiny colorful ligatures holding everything in place. And the little hooks, those are be helping your elastics work their magic too.

Now when we say “bracket,” “wire,” or “hook” at your next appointment, you’ll know exactly what we mean.
