Braces at Our Fort Washington Office

Braces in Fort Washington, PA

Braces are still the most precise tool an orthodontist has. Dr. Brian Zebrick uses them for everything from a child's crowded front teeth to an adult bite that has bothered someone for years. Starting November 4, you can get that care at our new Fort Washington office at 451 S Bethlehem Pike, Suite 100, close to Ambler, Dresher and Upper Dublin.

Whether it is a first set for a 12-year-old or a long-overdue fix for a parent, the consultation is free and the recommendation is honest.

How Braces Move Teeth

Each tooth gets a small bracket, and a thin archwire connects them. The wire applies light, steady pressure along a path Dr. Zebrick plans in advance, and at each visit it is adjusted or replaced to keep teeth moving in the right direction. Because braces work around the clock and can't be taken out, they handle movements that are harder for aligners, like rotating a stubborn tooth, closing a wide gap or changing how the upper and lower teeth meet.

What Braces Can Correct

Braces treat far more than crooked teeth. They routinely correct:

  • Crowding, when teeth overlap or twist for lack of room
  • Gaps and spacing between teeth
  • Overbite, when the upper front teeth sit too far over the lower ones
  • Underbite, when the lower teeth extend past the uppers
  • Crossbite, when the teeth do not line up side to side
  • Open bite, when the front teeth do not meet when the back teeth close

Left alone, these can make teeth harder to clean and strain the jaw over time. Correcting them protects long-term oral health as much as it improves the smile.

Planned Digitally

Even traditional braces start with a digital scan instead of putty impressions. Dr. Zebrick maps each stage of tooth movement before the first bracket goes on, so you will know where treatment is headed and roughly how long it will take. The same records help the team spot small issues early and keep treatment on schedule.

Visits That Respect Your Time

Adjustment visits are short and run on schedule, which matters when you are coming from school or work. Our team answers questions in plain language, and if something comes up between visits, a phone call usually sorts it out.

Metal or Clear Braces

Metal Braces

Today's metal braces are smaller and smoother than the ones most parents remember. They are the most affordable option, they handle nearly any case, and younger patients like choosing colored bands.

Clear (Ceramic) Braces

Clear braces use tooth-colored brackets that blend in with your teeth and work the same way metal ones do. Teens and adults who would rather their braces not be the first thing people notice often choose them. They need a little extra care to stay looking clean.

Prefer something removable? Invisalign is another option, and Dr. Zebrick can compare the two at your visit.

What to Expect with Braces

Step 1: Free Consultation and Exam

Your first visit is a relaxed consultation and digital exam. We review your goals, look at your teeth and bite, and explain the orthodontic treatment options that fit, with no pressure.

Step 2: Placing Your Braces

Placing braces is painless and takes about an hour. Each bracket is positioned and bonded, the archwire is set, and you leave with a full rundown of how to care for them.

Step 3: Adjustment Visits

Every four to eight weeks, you come in for a short adjustment that keeps your teeth moving on plan.

Step 4: Removal and Retention

When your teeth reach their finished positions, the braces come off and a custom retainer keeps everything in place. Wearing it as directed is what protects your result for the long haul.

Braces for Children, Teens, and Adults

Children

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends a first evaluation by age seven. Most children will not need braces right away, but an early look lets us guide growth and time treatment well, which can simplify things later.

Teens

The teen years are the classic window for braces. Most permanent teeth are in, crowding and bite issues are very treatable, and braces fit naturally into teen life, with colored bands as a bonus.

Adults

It is never too late. Many of our adult patients missed treatment as kids or have noticed their teeth shifting over time. Braces work just as well for adults, and clear brackets keep them discreet.

Are Braces Right for You?

Braces suit a wide range of patients and goals:

  • Children and teens with crowding, spacing or developing bite issues
  • Adults addressing long-standing concerns or teeth that have shifted
  • Complex cases that need precise, predictable tooth movement
  • Anyone who prefers a fixed appliance they never have to remember to wear

An evaluation is the only way to know what fits. Dr. Zebrick reviews your teeth and bite, explains what he sees, and gives you a clear recommendation and timeline.

Why Families Choose BZ Orthodontics

Orthodontics is all Dr. Zebrick does. He trained as a specialist at Temple University after dental school, and he has been named Best of Montco Orthodontist nine years running. Our reviews mention the same things again and again: visits that run on time, a team that knows you by name, and a doctor who explains what he is doing and why.

Caring for Your Braces

Good habits keep treatment on track. Brush after meals and floss daily, since brackets and wires give plaque more places to hide, and the team will show you the easiest way to clean around them. Hard, sticky and chewy foods can loosen a bracket or bend a wire, so those are best set aside for now. If something comes loose or a wire pokes, call the office and we will get you comfortable again.

Two Offices, One Practice

Our Fort Washington office on Bethlehem Pike is open alternating Wednesdays and Fridays, 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Our Lansdale office at 456 E. Hancock St. is open more days each week. Call (215) 855-7717 and we will help you find the appointment that fits.
